First build i added AS5 to the stock heatsink without removing the stock TIM, once i got a cable stuck on the fan of a heatsink and i have fucked up the mount of the cooler more times that i would like to admit.įinally, the 4790k is literally the hottest running chip that comes with the stock heatsink in Intel current line up, sometimes they simply overheat because the stock is not enough cooling, so even a budget heatsink (CRYORIG H7, CM hyper 212 evo, enermax ETS-T140) will be SO much more apropiate, even without overclocking. I don't wanna seem like i'm asking stuff that may feel insulting, i have made REALLY dumb mistakes that caused overheating, it happens. Have you tried remounting the cooler? If so, did you clean off the thermal paste and added new one? The standard model shipped with a 256GB SSD PCI-E-002 Hard Drive and 8GB of Integrated RAM.
